About us

The European Association “Cyril and Methodius”, which founded the Bulgarian Hristo Botev School, was established on 20 March 2009 in Strasbourg with the assistance of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Council of Europe and the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to France. Its aim is to promote the Bulgarian language and Bulgarian culture in the Alsace region and in France through a regular training meeting the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science in Bulgaria.

Our story

The European Association “Cyril and Methodius”, which founded the Bulgarian Hristo Botev School, was established on 20 March 2009 in Strasbourg with the assistance of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Council of Europe and the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to France. Its aim is to promote the Bulgarian language and Bulgarian culture in the Alsace region and in France through a regular training meeting the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science in Bulgaria.

Targets

The main objective of the Association is to promote the Bulgarian language and culture in the region of Alsace France and Baden-Württemberg Germany through Bulgarian language, literature, history and geography training in accordance with the requirements of the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science. In addition, the association supports the cultural and linguistic exchange between France and Bulgaria, says the director, Assoc. Prof. Mihova. Initially, the school opens doors for children aged 6 to 18, regardless of their nationality or social status.
